Canada is a vast and diverse country, divided into 10 provinces and 3 territories, which each and every unique landscapes and attractions of their own. The eastern provinces of Canada, because of their small size and their proximity, are particularly attractive for tourists. It may indeed be easier to plan a trip in eastern Canada than in the other provinces.

The provinces of the east coast of Canada are called Atlantic provinces, due to the Atlantic Ocean. These provinces, their landscapes, people, cultures and industries are also deeply affected by their proximity to the sea Atlantic provinces include New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador.

If you visit New Brunswick, you will have the Gaspé Peninsula since it is in this region that Quebec is connected to this maritime province. Its capital is Fredericton, while Saint John and Muncton are the two other largest cities that you can visit. By the turn of New Brunswick, you can admire the beautiful scenery of the sea and soak up the Acadian culture. You can visit important tourist attractions such as the Fundy National Park, Hopewell Rocks and the Village Historique Acadien. Approximately one-third of the inhabitants of New Brunswick francophones, while the province is the only one officially bilingual.

To the east of New Brunswick is located in Nova Scotia, whose capital is Halifax. English is the main language of the province, but it is possible to find francophones. Acadian and Celtic cultures are present in Nova Scotia, and the Province is particularly renowned for its delicious seafood island of Cape Breton, the Bay of Fundy, Peggy's Cove, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and many museums are among the attractions.

The Prince Edward Island Prince Edward Island, just north of the junction between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, is Canada's smallest province. Its capital is Charlottetown. The island is famous for its red soil and its potatoes. Its inhabitants are mostly English. National Park Prince Edward Island Prince Edward Island is the most popular tourist attraction, while the bluefin tuna annually attracts many followers of sport fishing.

Finally, Newfoundland and Labrador, whose capital is Saint-Jean, is the largest of the Atlantic. It shares a large border with Quebec. Its inhabitants are once again mostly English. L'Anse aux Meadows Viking remains and the Terra Nova National Park and Battle Harbour are among the attractions to visit.

No matter what your interests are, you'll certainly fun to travel in eastern Canada and its provinces to discover their authentic cultures and their inhabitants warm and welcoming.
